BIC All in One Fountain Pens - Black Ink, 12-Pack Box Set for Office, School & Calligraphy Writing

These fountain pens are great! They write smoothly and start writing right out of the box. I don't know why they aren't for sale in the US...these came from the UK. It's not all about keyboards.Great pen.GoodSurprisingly, I prefer these BiC pens to the market leading Pilot V-pen. (I bought a dozen of each for comparison).The BiC pen* is chunkier (thicker and longer, more reminiscent of a felt tip pen). This makes it easier to hold despite the barrel plastic being less grippy.* is slightly cheaper (although it does feel cheaper).* has longer life (measured in a non-scientific test over 3 months).* has a more secure lid.* flows better e.g. when scribbling diagrams. (Both pens are both excellent for normal handwriting).The window on the ink reservoir could be easier to see through. Also it looks less professional than the Pilot pen (but then maybe I am just prejudiced and associate the BiC logo with nasty biro pens!).Update: The lid is indeed a tight fit. However 2 (from the box of 12) have cracked, leaving them insecure (a big problem if you keep them in your pocket!). Ink flow is good, and I haven't noticed fading as I have with some other disposable fountain pensHowever, the pocket clip has broken on the vast majority of these pens. This is definitely a weak point in the design.As other reviewers have commented I have also noticed that some of the caps don't stay on reliably. I don't know if it is related but I tend to notice this more on pens where the pocket clip has snapped off.Fine, but quite scratchy and the ink often fails to flow properly, so I have to write the work several times until it flows again. Would not buy again.I like the pens, they have a nice feel to write with, but the pocket clip on everyone (pack of twelve) has broken after minimal use. The cap on a large percentage has split and will not stay on the pen. These are not minor defects as they prevent the pens from being used on a day to day basis (they cannot be kept in my pocket).Don't expect Parker pen quality, but these are great. I'd never carry around a fountain pen in my bag as they would get ruined and I've end up with ink everywhere. These are a great substitute and much nice that writing with a ball point pen.
